Chabad of Palm Beach Gardens
AIA Palm Beach 2019
Award of Merit for Unbuilt Non-Residential
The Chabad of Palm Beach Gardens design proposal expands on the existing synagogue in our local community. The client is currently using a small building for multiple community outreach programs and religious services and a daycare for children. Many of these functions awkwardly overlap in the same spaces and the need for expansion is evident.
Our design team created a solution that would smoothly combine the existing space with the new addition. Several important elements stayed at the core of the design vision: flexibility of large spaces to convert into multiple uses, functional educational facility on the second floor, outdoor event space on the rooftop, CPTED and security measures incorporated throughout. With a holistic approach to youth education, we created spaces centered around health, sports, learning and other hands-on activities that create an overall stronger sense of community.
